THANK YOU

THANK YOU, Levitt Foundation, for supporting our first season of Levitt AMP North Adams! We had a blast and we hope we’ll see you again for round 2! Stay tuned for our get out the vote campaign, as online voting for our second year of funding begins November 1.

Thank you to MCLA Berkshire Cultural Resource Center for leading the charge on this eclectic series. A special thank you to Jennifer Crowell for pulling together an incredible line-up and to Chris Handschuh for great work managing the concerts.

Thank you to the City of North Adams for your support of this series from work preparing Colegrove Park to keeping us safe every week and continuing to champion the biggest little city in the commonwealth.

And a huge Thank You to all of the musicians that graced our Levitt Amp Stage in 2016: Adam Ezra Group, Wild Adriatic, Tinsley Ellis, Bella’s Bartok, Olive Tiger, M Shanghai, Dupont Brothers, Caitlin Canty, Peter Mulvey, and the Seratones.

Also, thank you to our other community partners for helping to support this free music series, amplifying community pride, bringing free music to the people, and highlighting the importance of vibrant public spaces – MASS MoCA, Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, Common Folk, North Adams Chamber of Commerce

And Finally thank you to our vendors, Bright Ideas Brewing and Grazie for keeping us hydrated and fed on so many Sunday afternoons.

Time to Rock Out.

What’s that? You didn’t seen the Seratones at Wind-Up last year? Well, lucky for you, they’re back and they’re ready to rock. This is one of the best shows of 2016 in our opinion and a great way to close out our first Levitt AMP North Adams series. So we’ll see you there – right up front and shaking your booty.

Here’s a full session of them at Audiotree. Watch the first song, the second song, the whole thing if you want. Just remember to come join us on October 16th…

On the Way Up

peterResized

Get ready folks. This is a show that should NOT be missed. Hailing from Wisconsin, Peter is a musician of two homes – The Midwest, but also the Northeast, as he started his career playing in the subways of Boston, MA. It’s not often that you hear a performer that has such poetic lyrics – Peter writes what he feels and you feel it too, every time you see him perform. And did I mention he’s a fantastic guitar player as well? Well, he is.

Come see Peter perform on October 9th with Pamela Means, his friend and fellow Wisconsin-based singer-songwriter.

Heading North from Nashville

Caitlin Canty -Promo Pic 3 %22Kay Kalamazoo%22 by Jay Sansone-2

If you haven’t heard Caitlin Canty, be ready to fall in love with another amazing Americana female singer. Born in Vermont and raised in New England, Caitlin has found a good home in Nashville and it’s sound. Her haunting voice and guitar make her a natural for Americana music. We’re thrilled to have her join us on the Levitt AMP North Adams stage this October 2nd.

Check out “Get Up” off of Caitlin’s newest release Reckless Skyline. You’ll want to play it over and over again…

Yes, they really are brothers

We’ve all heard of musical families – the Dylans, the Isleys, the Jacksons. The DuPonts are just as talented and come to us from our neighboring state of Vermont. Growing up singing in their home, these two re-united several years ago to start making music together and since then have been taking over New England with their beautiful harmonies and stunning guitar work. And did I mention that they’re really nice guys?

Come see them September 25th at 2pm. You won’t be disappointed…

It’s time for some Bluegrass

M Shanghai Press Photo_CMYK_300DPI

It’s so fun when it’s Freshgrass weekend in North Adams. Not only are there more people here to wander around our town and see how beautiful it is, but we get to see so many incredible musicians right in our backyard. I love going to Freshgrass each year and seeing my neighbors all out and enjoying the weekend.

But I especially love Freshgrass this year, since MASS MoCA worked closely with us to schedule two fantastic bands that are also featured at Freshgrass. M Shanghai, from Brooklyn, NY and The Ramblin’ Jug Stompers will be playing a special early show for us this coming Sunday at 11am. All we’ve done is increase the amount of great music that you can see on Sunday. So come on over to Colegrove Park (maybe with a yummy bagel from Brewhaha or a savory crepe from Oh! Crepe) and enjoy some free bluegrass music before heading over the Freshgrass for the afternoon. I’ll be making the same trek myself!
